Dionaea muscipula - Venus Flytrap 'King Henry'
Dionaea muscipula 'King Henry' is a large Venus flytrap cultivar grown for its dramatic snap traps. It is a carnivorous bog plant, not a typical houseplant, and it does best with strong light and mineral-free water.
Care: Use only distilled, reverse-osmosis, or rain water. Keep the media consistently moist in a tray of water during active growth; do not let it dry out. Grow in very bright light with several hours of direct sun or strong grow lights. Use nutrient-poor carnivorous plant media and do not fertilize.
Dormancy: Venus flytraps need a cool winter rest period. Growth may slow or die back seasonally and resume when conditions warm and days lengthen.
Pet safety: Venus flytraps are generally considered non-toxic, but they should not be eaten or repeatedly triggered.
